Learning to Draw - Series 1

A series of videos on How to Draw for beginners and intermediate artists who want to be pushed in the right direction for making environments, characters and props.

Series 1:

• Episode 1: The Basics - Talking about using reference and getting you used to shape and scale.
• Episode 2: Perspective - Understanding perspective and why things closer are much bigger than you think.
• Episode 3: Composition - Thinking more about the layout of the scene and story telling.
• Episode 4: Props and Products - Creating your first drawing of an object using perspective and basic forms.
• Episode 5: Characters in Perspective - Exploring Character and weapon drawings in perspective and isometric.
• Episode 6: Using Base Shapes - Understanding base shapes and construction to build scenes and characters.
• Episode 7: Drawing with Silhouettes - Using a large block-out brush to make quick and simple shapes that read well.
• Episode 8: Using Reference and Photobashing - We create a simple person with multiple references.
• Epidode 9:  How fast do we need to work? - Exploring sketches and thumbnails that would act as client proposals.
• Episode 10: Putting it all together - I create a distant castle scene in just over 1 hour containing everything learned in this series.

Each video is progressive and designed to fast track inexperienced artists to a level where they can develop on their own. In my videos I take the viewer through stages that I have experienced personally and academically.
